Uganda is a beautiful country beset with enormous problems. While millions of Ugandans continue to live in abject poverty, corruption and lack of adequate food is destroying the next generation. Uganda has one of the fastest growing populations in the world, and there are now more children under 18 than there are adults. This is putting a tremendous strain on the ability to educate children and provide jobs for them as they come of age.
Ugandan society is organized around family and tribal groups. It is home to over 50 different tribes who speak 30 different languages.
Childcare Worldwide has been working in Uganda since 1986, and we have more than 2,800 kids in our sponsorship program there.
