Sri Lanka is seeing tremendous progress in working its way out of extreme poverty and child endangerment. In addition to increasing its school enrollment, literacy and food security for children, Sri Lanka is in the midst of a committed national strategy to end child labor.
Sri Lanka is a multi-religious country, with 70% of the population being Buddhist. A large number of people practice Hinduism and Islam, leaving only 7% who practice Christianity.
