FAQs

Social Media Policies

For the safety of the all the children we serve, please do not connect with your sponsored child via any social media platform. Instead, please use the approved methods to connect that are outlined here.

Privacy and security goes both ways, and we endeavor to protect you as well as our children. Sponsored children and their family members are discouraged from contacting you without Childcare Worldwide’s prior knowledge. If your sponsored child does reach out to you via social media, please be aware that they have been instructed NOT to do so. Please refuse their request.

This helps protect you from being solicited directly from overseas, and protects the children from being forced to contact you by coercion from unscrupulous individuals.

While we strongly discourage direct contact with your child on social media, please feel free to share news about your child with your networks! Post their pictures, letters, etc as you please. To protect their security and privacy we only ask that you do not post your child’s last name.

How can I be sure that my money is spent correctly?

Childcare Worldwide is audited by independent auditing firms in the U.S., as well as in each country where we work. We have also been endorsed by the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (http://www.ecfa.org/) and are evaluated annually by Wall Watchers (http://www.ministrywatch.org/) and Charity Navigator (http://www.charitynavigator.org/). All of these “watchdog” non-profit organizations help assist prospective donors in making good giving decisions.

What do sponsorship funds provide for the child?

The funds raised through the sponsorship program are used to cover educational expenses, such as school fees, uniforms and books. Children in our children’s homes receive full care in addition to the educational expenses.

Children are also given access to essential needs depending upon his or her situation. This includes food, clean water, and medical attention as needed.

If I want to write, how should I do this?

You should send all communications with your child’s name and identification number to our address in the U.S. you can email your letters to us at sponsorship@childcareworldwide.org, or you can submit a letter via this form on our website. We will gladly forward them, and we will also forward correspondence from your child to you.

What happens if I can’t continue with my sponsorship?

We understand that there are times that a sponsor is not able to continue supporting their child. When this occurs, we continue to support that child through our “Unsponsored Children’s Fund” so their education may continue. Meanwhile, this child is placed in our priority section of children waiting to be sponsored.

Will my child be instructed in the Word of God?

You bet! Each child in our program is part of a local Life Center church which provides age appropriate training and teaching about Jesus. And every child is enrolled in our Christian Character Development program which teaches instills Christian ethics, morals and lifestyles.

How much does it cost to sponsor a child?

It costs $40 a month for each child that is sponsored.
