Love Paks in Action December 31, 2019
Thanks to you, we just wrapped up another year of wonderful Love Pak Christmas parties around the world!
Presents, treats, songs, games, and kids hearing about Jesus’ birth for the first time… it doesn’t get much better than this! See the joy for yourself in this video of Love Pak parties in Uganda:
I can’t think of a better way to share the joy of Christmas with children than with the gift of a Love Pak party! Thank you for making it possible.
An Extra Special Christmas December 9, 2019
Indhushree is a sweet seven-year-old who lives in India. She’s proud of the fact that her country is home to both the Taj Mahal and tigers. She also loves to read to her grandma in their native Tamil language. What a sweetheart!
But Indhushree’s life is far from easy. She lives in a poor, crowded neighborhood. She’s scared of the constant traffic outside her house. Even the short walk to her grandma’s house can be dangerous. Her dad drives a taxi on those dangerous, busy roads to make ends meet for his family. But even with long hours, the money he earns is barely enough.
The Best Gift Ever October 30, 2019
What is the best Christmas present you’ve ever received? When I was about seven, my parents bought me my very own American Girl doll. I can still remember that feeling of joy, excitement, and awe as I unwrapped the box. And that’s the feeling five-year-old Heidi had as she unwrapped her gift at her Love Pak party in Mexico.
Love Paks are our way of reminding kids how deeply they are loved – both by you, and by God. (more…)
A Merry Christmas, around the world! December 10, 2018
It’s Christmas time! And thanks to you, the kids we serve around the world are celebrating in style!
Every year our staff works very hard to throw a big Christmas party in each of our program locations, and it’s your Love Pak gifts that make it possible. The basics at each party are the same: yummy food, a special present to let each child know they’re loved, and a retelling of the nativity story. At the heart of each party is a celebration of Jesus’ birth. But beyond that, each country infuses the party with their own traditions.
It’s so much fun to see the different ways kids celebrate! Here’s a brief look at past Love Pak parties around the world, to help you visualize how our kids are celebrating this year:
The best gift of all! November 5, 2018
When Caroline went to her Christmas Love Pak party last year, she didn’t know her life was about to change forever. All she was thinking about was getting out of the house for a few hours.
At the time, Caroline was just 15, and she was deeply depressed. Which was no surprise, given all she was dealing with at home. Her beloved mother had passed away a few years ago, and Caroline was still grieving.
When her mom died, Caroline had to take on a lot of extra responsibility. She is now the sole care-giver for her sick auntie. They can’t afford a good doctor, so they’re not sure exactly what’s wrong. All Caroline knows is that her aunt is too weak to walk. Caroline has to help her with everything – she cooks her meals, cleans the house, even helps her aunt outside to the toilet. Can you imagine? And they only have a pit in the ground – Caroline has to help her aunt crouch down over the pit, and then pull her back up. Good thing Caroline is strong for her age!

Joy to the World! January 12, 2017
Two girls giggle excitedly in a small church in rural Uganda. They are carefully trying on costumes, and helping each other with head-dresses and paper wings.
Meanwhile a little boy sits on the floor crafting props out of paper, while other children memorize lines. A few adults are also hard at work – One is setting out treats, and another is “decking the halls” with Christmas trees and ornaments. Another is laying out piles of presents wrapped in festive, sparkly paper.
All of this work is in preparation for the Love Pak Christmas party, and excitement levels could not be higher! All of this is because of you. We are amazed by your generosity! With all your gifts this year, we threw parties just like this one for 6,500 children around the world. 6,500! That’s a new Love Pak record! Thank you for bringing so much joy this Christmas! (more…)
