Joan’s Battle with Malaria

In Baringo, Kenya malaria is all too common. There’s not a family untouched by the disease, and 13-year-old Joan is no exception.

Many of the people Joan knows have suffered from malaria, and in her short life she’s already battled the disease herself multiple times. It’s so common that the health clinic in Joan’s town doesn’t even bother to double check with a test. If someone comes in with malaria symptoms, they get treated for malaria regardless.

THANK YOU for giving clean water!

Over the last few weeks, we’ve been focusing on clean water projects and the difference we can make together. Today, I’m pleased to share that we’ve raised over $36,000 to help make sure kids have access to safe drinking water – and more gifts continue to come in every day.

Unbearable Thirst July 1, 2021

Unbearable Thirst

Bridget is 14 years old and has 3 little sisters. Her father abandoned them, but her mother works hard to take care of her family. They live in one small room, which they rent. Bridget is a wonderful help to her mother. She makes the hour-long trip to the open well for the family’s daily supply of water, and often takes care of baby Brenda so that mom can go to work. Her family attends the local church and Bridget loves being a part of the singing, dancing, and drama group there, while her mother serves as an usher.

Water is Life June 1, 2021

Water is Life

All of us know that water is life. We cannot live without it, and if we do not drink enough, our bodies are quickly run down and consumed with finding more.

But how often do we forget to acknowledge how desperately we need our dose of Living Water every day, to truly live? If we ignore our thirst for too long, it begins to consume our lives, as we desperately search for something that will satisfy.
