THANK YOU for giving clean water! July 27, 2021
Over the last few weeks, we’ve been focusing on clean water projects and the difference we can make together. Today, I’m pleased to share that we’ve raised over $36,000 to help make sure kids have access to safe drinking water – and more gifts continue to come in every day.

The Water Crisis and How to Help May 12, 2020
Walking down a narrow path in Uganda, grass and twigs brushing against my legs, I can’t imagine making this walk every single day.
I’m already sweating in the heat and humidity, and impatient to reach our destination. But the kids I’m walking with don’t have a choice. They make this trek daily, because at the end is the community’s only water source.

Does your water gift really matter? For kids like Angel, yes! Your water gift makes a bigger impact than you could ever know!
Over the past few weeks, we’ve invited you to join us in providing clean water for children in need. And we’re so grateful for the way you’ve responded to that call! With your help, we are installing new water tanks in Kenya and Uganda. Already, your gifts are changing children’s lives.
Take a look at the difference you’re making:

In Kenya and Uganda, a water tank can change hundreds of lives…in just 5 simple steps.
YOU are the first step. Your compassion for children who are suffering from dirty water prompts your amazing generosity. And it’s your gift that starts the process, culminating in that first drop of clean water!

The Water of Life June 28, 2019
Providing clean water for children in need is one of our best opportunities to impact their future. Clean water frees up time for school and play. It also promotes health, keeping kids out of the hospital and even saving lives. Ask any clean water organization about their purpose, and their answer will include those two things: time and health.
But for us, there’s a third reason we’re committed to clean water, and it’s the most important reason of all: the Gospel! You see, giving children clean water is an amazing opportunity to share with them about the Living Water! Here’s how it works: (more…)

Every morning, 12-year-old Diana gets up with the sun. Before she can go to school, she has to get water for her family.
Diana lives in Salgaa, a densely populated town in Kenya. It’s a truck stop for long-distance drivers, but most of the residents – like Diana’s family – are farmers. Her dad drives a tractor, but most of his pay goes to cover rent on their small house. There is very little left for food, clothes, or school fees for Diana and her siblings.
Worst of all, there’s no money left for water.
Which is why Diana gets up early every morning (more…)
5 Reasons Why Water Matters May 28, 2019
If you can, try to count how many times a day you turn on a tap. As I write this, it’s not even 9am, and I’m already up to seven. I’ve taken a shower, flushed a toilet, washed my hands, made coffee, rinsed my cereal bowl, and gotten a glass of water. Clean, running water is so readily available to us, it’s almost impossible to understand what life is like without clean water access.
But in developing countries, many people still don’t have access to clean water, even today. And it’s more than just an inconvenience: every 90 seconds, a child dies from diseases spread by dirty water. That’s why water is one of our best opportunities to improve children’s lives. Here’s how:
1. Clean water is health.
Without running water, families turn to whatever water sources they can find. (more…)
Field Notes from Kenya February 14, 2019
I’m here! After many airline delays, and rerouted flights, I finally made it to Kenya. And so far, my visit has been so much fun!
Our first stop was to a Life Center. Bavuni School is a church where children visit on Saturday mornings to learn Christian Character Building (CCB) from a curriculum produced by Childcare Worldwide (CCW). They learn Bible verses to memory, sing songs, and then have a lunch of porridge and juice. Our visit was with the pastor, children and some of their parents. The children sang and recited scripture. The pastor delivered a short message, then my colleague Peter Horne (affiliated with CCW since its beginning) told a story on character that was quite animated. The kids laughed as Peter told them that God sees everything they do, and that because of Jesus Christ, they are forgiven. I stood up and greeted the crowd, sending well wishes from the staff at CCW. I loved meeting the kids and seeing their school. (more…)
