“Greetings from Africa!”

The Ugandan Orphans Choir members send this greeting at the beginning of each performance. These children were some of the neediest children in Uganda. Now, they are the fortunate few that have been rescued from a life of hunger and poverty and given the opportunity for education and spiritual development. These tools will help them make a difference in the future of Africa!

The Ugandan Orphans Choir brings a message of hope to American audiences through the traditional rhythmic dances and songs of Africa. View the choir performing a traditional dance. Performances include colorful African costumes and traditional instruments such as drums and pan pipes as the children sing and dance tribal songs from all over Africa. For example, the Bwota dance is the “Dance of Courage” and is traditionally performed in large ceremonies. Previous choirs have delighted audiences across the United States and Canada as they shared African folklore through music and dance as well as the message of Gods love for people of all nations!

Childcare Worldwide believes that education is the key to transforming lives. The children in the Ugandan Orphans Choir are provided with the educational tools necessary to break the cycle of poverty from the beginning of their time as choir members through the completion of trade school. Touring with the Ugandan Orphans Choir gives the children a reason to dream big! They are exposed to the opportunities that can be theirs by working hard in further developing their art form and on their education.
