Severe Flooding in Kenya / Summer 2006

A deadly drought - flood cycle has affected over 500,000 people in recent weeks on the coast of northeast Kenya. At least 114 people have been killed and flood waters have washed away crops, bridges and roads. In many areas over 80% of the farms have washed away. Hundreds of buildings have been destroyed. Children are drinking contaminated water.
