Olympia: Ugandan Orphans Choir performs opening prayer for Washington State Senate

On Wednesday, March 23, Childcare Worldwide’s Ugandan Orphans Choir had the special opportunity to perform the opening prayer in the form of song and dance in the Washington State Senate. One of the children, Daphine (11), was picked by the Lieutenant Governor, Brad Owen, to bang the gavel to open the day’s session.

The children toured the capital building and learned a little about how the American Government functions. Julius (11) was given the opportunity to play the Blüthner Piano in the Reception Room.

The children performed in the Rotunda following lunch and attracted a large audience. The drums echoed loudly as they performed two traditional Ugandan dances.
