Care Partner Program
A Care Partner is someone who supports a specific person or project in one of the countries where Childcare works. The Care Partner program is based on monthly pledges for specific things. At this time, a Care Partner, which can be an individual person, a group of people, or a church or organization, has several options for regular support:
- A clinic in the Maasai area of Kenya
- A clinic in a remote area north of Nakuru, Kenya
- For Survival Paks that are given to extremely needy families in India, Haiti, the Philippines, Uganda, Kenya, Mexico, and Peru
- For a Bible school in the Philippines
- For a pastor or evangelist in India, Kenya, or the Philippines
Every three months, Care Partners will receive an update on their supported project or person.
Clinic in Olenkasurai, Kenya
This clinic is located in the Maasai area of southwestern Kenya. It is the only medical facility for miles around. To get to the nearest town, one has to travel about 40 miles.
In just one month, our medical workers see between 700 and 800 people. Most cases are diarrhea and vomiting in children, respiratory tract infections, eye infections, malaria, and various injuries.
Clinic in Molok, Kenya
This clinic is located in the village of Molok, which is an isolated, arid area north of the town of Nakuru in Kenya. Because the next medical facility is about 30 miles away, the villagers suffered a lot from lack of medical attention. However, their plight changed in 2005 when Childcare made it possible to build a clinic in this village.
The day after the clinic in Molok had opened, a villager walking alone along a lonely path was suddenly attacked by a lion. The man was bleeding profusely and some local shepherds carried him to the new clinic. The man was brought in time and has pulled through, but he would never have survived the transport 30 miles away.
The clinic in Molok continues to be a great blessing for the people who live in this remote area. There will no longer be unnecessary suffering and no more untimely deaths due to inaccessible medical attention.
Survival Paks Feeding Programs for Families and Children in Haiti
The headmaster of one of the schools expressed deep gratitude for this program. "...some children are so hungry they fall asleep in class. You have made a big difference today in the lives of all the children in my school."
Survival Paks are food packages with especially needed staple goods that are distributed in the Philippines, Uganda, Kenya, Mexico, and Peru. In many cases, they literally help the recipients survive.
A typical Survival Pak contains rice, lentils, beans, cooking oil, corn flour, oatmeal, cereal, noodles, canned goods, as well as soap and, if needed, a blanket.
In Haiti, we have three School Feeding Programs.
Ministry to Street Boys
In Uganda, Childcare runs a rehabilitation center for street boys. There they receive an education that makes them employable.
A Bible School in the Philippines
The purpose of the Bible School is to plant churches throughout the island archipelago between the islands of Bohol, Leyte and Cebu. The students go through three years of training. The first two years are theological training, and the last year is an internship program, where they will be sent out to plant a church.
Individual Persons
Sometimes, Care Partners prefer to support individual persons. This can be done through the sponsorship of evangelists in India or the Philippines.
